Do you follow your idol blindly

Good morning.
How are you today?
All of us have role models, idols, leaders, or spiritual figures whom we trust and follow. But we also have our own intellect and ability to discern. Should you believe something blindly just because your idol has said it, or should you use your own judgement to decide what to follow? Where should one draw the line, if one’s values and beliefs are not in alignment with what the idol says? It is our thinking ability that differentiates us from other species, otherwise it is believed that a majority of our genes are similar to not just apes, but even banana and cucumber. What do you think?
